Another World

These images exist because of change ,deliberate, necessary and irreversible. Tasmania’s hydro lakes, created to produce clean electricity, flooded entire valleys and forests, leaving behind skeletal trees standing motionless above the water’s surface. Over time, weather stripped them of life and detail, transforming them into stark, ghostly forms.

I’m drawn to these places because they feel removed from the present. These landscapes are quiet, desolate and strangely calm. They resemble something post human. A vision of what remains after intervention and time have done their work. Through long exposure black and white photography, I attempt to capture that sense of suspension, where water softens, clouds drift and trees stand as silent witnesses. These images are not only about loss, but about transformation, endurance and the uneasy beauty of an altered world.
